This page is where you will find my little 'spoofs', imaginary adventures, sleight of hand tricks, etc. And a few uploads of this nonsense to YouTube
I also have in mind to use this page for my 'off the wall' experimentation.
I have two general areas of this 'off the wall' stuff in mind - javascript and Flash.
First, with javascript I want to, just dink around to see what all can be done with it. After only a short exposure, javascript seems so versatile. It looks to be a whole (little?) world of its own - in addition to providing handy little code snippets - it also appears that it may be possible to use it as a programming language to solve complex math problems. I may be wrong but I'm going to find out. There are bound to be ways I can use some javascript in my spoofs but a more serious use to write some electromagnetic forming code is found in my "Other Fun Stuff"
Why do this? I guess I am curious as to whether javascript is as versatile as I think it may be. (Don't any of you javascript junkies shoot this down before I have a go!)
Now with regard to Flash it is obvious to me that there are far more things one can do than I will ever have the time to investigate. So I am going to look for ways I can use it to make goofy, suspect or just downright misleading animations. I've already done a couple of these and I will try to take 'you behind the curtain' a bit to see how they work.
I won't spend too much time on Flash because it is an Adobe product and I have found, unlike some other software I use a lot, they have gotten so big they are like Microsoft - unless you are a huge client or very wealthy - it is just impossible to get any support when you are puzzling over something. All one can do is search the web and hope you find something that answers your question. What usually happens is that one finds something else that sounds really interesting and you get side-tracked. That is actually how I found the speech bubble spoofs for my Class '53 stuff.
